Lack of internet access in Southeast Asia poses challenges for students to study online amid COVID-19 pandemic


Governments and companies across the world have responded to the COVID-19 pandemic with cancellations of public events and closures of offices, restaurants, museums, schools and universities to avoid masses from gathering as the highly contagious pneumonia-like disease can spread from one person to another. As of March 17, over 182,000 cases and more than 7000 deaths have been recorded worldwide.

Education institutions around the world have responded to school closures by holding their classes online to ensure that students will still be able to study at home.
